I Did It My Way…

Regrets, I have a few; but then, again, too few to mention…Some years back I attended a series of talks on finding and doing God’s will in my life.  The person speaking began with a negative criticism of Frank Sinatra’s “My Way.”  I’m already pissed off.  You never insult ‘Ol Blue Eyes to Italians. The Chairman of the Board can do no wrong in our minds.  So what was his gripe with “My Way?”

In a nutshell, when Frankie promoted his way, it was not God’s way.  Essentially, when we do it our way, it is not according to God’s will for us.  In some cases, this may be true.  BUT, as I continue to look inward, find balance, acknowledge my dreams and live them out, I realize that “my way” IS God’s way.  I am not referring here to just doing whatever feels good at anybody’s expense. I am talking about that which is embedded within.

My dreams, desires, that which floats my boat, has been placed within me by God.  Two of the fruits of the Holy Spirit are joy and peace.  I am most at peace when I am fulfilling my deepest aspirations and my longings.  I am excited at the thought of doing every day what I love most, what makes me happy.  Does God’s will have to be misery?  There is only one entity that wants us to be miserable.  You know who that is.

Search deep within.  Do it your way and know this about me…

“Yes, there were times, I’m sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all and I stood tall and did it my way”

Tell me what’s going on in your life.  I want to hear from you.

Amore & Baci (Love & Kisses),

Just Steph
